We're stepping out in faith at the Vineyard.  Beginning November 6 we are asking our regular attenders to go to a friend who doesn't know Jesus and ask this question:  "If Jesus was standing in front of you right now, what would you ask Him to do for you?"  We have a caveat on requests:  1)  we cannot pray for someone to win the lottery; and 2) we will not pray for any romantic involvement with anyone else.  It's far too subjective.  Other than that.... the door is wide open.

This is what is a little scary.

What if nothing happens?  In my mind, I know God loves to answer prayers of those who don't know Him yet.  He loves to woo people into His presence with answering prayers to show His goodness, kindness, mercy and love.

I have to tell you, this is way out of my comfort zone.  In the past I have prayed for myself believing in faith for things to come to pass.  They have.  I have asked for prayers for others, usually in a one-on-one basis.  More often than not, God answers those prayers rather quickly.

But this time I'm asking 100 people to step outside their comfort zones and pray for others. (Gulp.)

I guess the "what if" of this really comes down to this:  Am I afraid I will look foolish?   Or God will?

Let's see what happens next.
